2006-09-18 [Kuehne]: you know.. when i was a kid i was dyslexic.. but they worked with me until i could read and write correctly.. so i don't know if i'm techincally dyslexic or not. Do you, at some point, become cured of dyslexicia or do you just learn to live with it?

2006-09-18 [moira hawthorne]: learn to live with it... but as you say if you get training to compensate... you can learn to over come it... there really isnt a cure.. its just the way your brain is wired.. but with enough practice its like a muscle... you train it to work around the problem... but i know the more tired I am mentally or emotionally upset the worse my dylexicia gets again

2006-09-18 [5thwitch]: Infact! I know that when I'm tired I do mistakes so, I try to correct sentences reading them 2times but sometimes I'm so tired that I miss them,so I turn back to my sentences the day after to control them.

even if you arent dyslexic anyone can make typos...
just dyslexic people normally know they will make more so try harder to stop them...

you know the one I really hate... I leave the negative off verbs... so when im trying to type... "Dont worry it doesnt bother me... Im not upset." ... it will come out as "Dont worry it does bother me... Im not upset." or "Dont worry it does bother me... I am upset." and its not spelt wrong... so spell check doesnt work.. and reading it over doesnt work...
[and this typo has terrible mismeaning!]

resent scientic studies are saying that the most creative people are those with the most connextion between the two sides... and its not the right side that is creative... tho there are differences in the two sides... like the control of the body... or such... and the two sides are not mirror images of each other.. ... in other words no one knows yet for sure how the brain works

I thought this was funny: My dad is a lefty, my mom is right handed, then there is my eldest brother who is left handed, the middle brother can write with both hands, and then me, right handed. ^^

2006-09-18 [Kyrinn]: my dad was dyslexic. He was hit by a car at age five and that contributed to it. he was failing english, spelling and vocabulary and at the time they couldnt figure out why, until one of teachers put a mirror up to them and saw they were right in the mirror image. He was hit by his own doctor too.. O.o This was back in the 40s too..

2006-09-18 [Yuriona]: I didn't think mirror writing was a form of a learning disability. I can mirror write in both printing and script and that was how I initially wrote everything when I was little. I got labelled 'gifted' though, not 'disabled'. :P
